In 1968, Glenfarclas was the first distillery to launch a commercially available cask strength single malt. The Glenfarclas 105 is bottled at exactly 60% abv with no water being added - making it one of the most difficult whiskies to make.
105 in made up of whiskies with a minimum age of eight years. The older whiskies that go into the vatting are used not only for flavour but as a way of reducing the bottling strength to 60%.
The whisky has notes on the nose of apples, pears and dark toffee sweetness. On the palate you will find sherries fruits such as raisins and dates with a subtle oak character.
